Visiting the Height in New York City

New York City is home to some of the tallest buildings in the world. Many are equipped with observation decks and high speed elevators whisking its visitors to new heights and views.

The Empire State Building or ESRT is among the most famous of New York City’s skyscrapers. It has been one of the most visited and recognized buildings since its 14 month completion in 1931. Droves of celebrities have toured the distinguished building from singer Andrea Bocelli, chef Anne Burrell and football player Demarco Murray. It was the tallest building for 40 years and takes up an entire city block.

The Rockefeller Center is one of the most talked about buildings in New York City since 1939. Of course it is home to a litany of retail stores, exciting dining experiences and an ice skating rink in the colder months. For a truly unique experience, travel to the “Top of the Rock” Observation Deck. Take in spectacular views of New York City from great heights in gorgeous sunlight or from building illumination at night. Right outside the soaring Rockefeller skyscraper, the famous Christmas Tree is lit in a cheery glow every year to celebrate the holidays.

At the time of completion in 1930, the Chrysler Building topped the Eiffel Tower as the tallest structure in the world. It is interesting to note that although built at a very fast pace, no construction workers died while erecting the famous skyscraper. Unfortunately it was a common for accidental death to occur during the construction of towering buildings in this time period. The great lobby of the Chrysler Building is home to tall ceilings, beautiful murals, and intricately designed elevators.

Trump Tower is one of New York City’s most iconic skyscrapers. Its vision was completed in 1984 by Donald Trump and boasts a toppling 68 stories. Trump Tower is a collaboration of high-end retails shops, delicious eateries and bars, residential condominiums and commercial office space. An atrium was created to house the retail space and is complete with a stunning 60 foot waterfall. Of course Trump Tower is a destination among the rich and famous such as professional athletes Rex Grossman, Patrick Kane and Juwan Howard.

New York City is comprised of scores of towering superstructures containing retail shops, delicious restaurants, perfectly designed lobbies and breathtaking observation decks. It is a city meant to appreciate by all visitors, celebrities and the common man alike.
